Dr Philippa Bowen a obtenu son diplôme de médecine à Brisbane en Australie en 1988. Après trois années de formation de médecin généraliste, Dr Bowen choisit la formation de psychiatrie. Elle travaille alors dans les hôpitaux en ambulatoire avec des patients adultes à Brisbane et devient Fellow (membre) du Collège Royal de l’Australie et de Nouvelle Zélande en 1999. Elle migre en Suisse et commence la formation de spécialiste en psychiatrie et psychothérapie de l’enfant et de l’adolescent à l’Office Médico-Pédagogique à Genève en 2000. Dans ce contexte, elle intègre successivement des unités de consultations ambulatoires pour enfants et pour adolescents, ainsi que l’Unité d’Urgence de l’OMP. Elle est également responsable thérapeutique d’un CMP pour enfants atteints de troubles du développement, notamment du spectre autistique. Sur le plan psychothérapeutique, elle a une double formation en thérapie psychodynamique et thérapie cognitivo-comportementale. Elle obtient son titre de spécialiste FMH en 2010 et s’installe en cabinet privé à Genève la même année. Actuellement, elle partage son temps professionnel entre ses cabinets à Genève et Chesières.

Dr Philippa Bowen grew up in rural Australia and completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland in 1988. After spending three years practising general medicine and obstetrics, she completed training in general adult psychiatry to become a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. She migrated to Switzerland in 1997 and further specialised in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy. Dr Bowen worked at the Office Médico-Pédagogique in Geneva in the consultation service for children and adolescents and for crisis and emergency care. She was also responsible therapist for several specialised centres for children with autistic spectrum and other developmental disorders. She has trained in both psychodynamic therapy as well as cognitive-behavioural therapy. She obtained her FMH title in 2010 and opened her private practice in Geneva shortly after. Over the subsequent years, she has developed a particular expertise in working with children and adolescents from expatriate families. She now divides her time between her consultation rooms in Geneva and Chesières.
